Job Details

5th Axis needs a Repair Technician to perform repairs and participate in preventative maintenance for all of our CNC machines and shop equipment. You must be organized, dedicated, focused and a team player. We are looking for seasoned mechanical technicians as well as entry level maintenance / shop support staff. Will train the right people but you have to come with a great attitude and mechanical aptitude. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your skillset and challenge yourself in a highly technical, world class manufacturing organization.

Some Duties Include:

  • Repair and/or replace machine parts daily while maintaining proper fluids and cleanliness of machinery
  • Repair of CNC controls, drives, motors, and mechanical assemblies
  • Plan and perform predictive, preventive, and reactive maintenance

Skills Needed:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic knowledge
  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings
  • CNC machine tool factory technician experience a major plus
  • Safety Awareness at all times
  • Safety committee experience is a plus!

Job Details

Calling all seasoned CNC Machinists, entry level Machine Operators and everything in between. 5th Axis is a fast paced, high volume CNC production facility that needs to staff up 3rd shift. We have a state-of-the art facility and stay on the cutting edge of this industry. Our equipment is new and spare no expense for tools. Never work with a dull endmill again! We service the medical, aerospace and military industries as well as our own line of machinist friendly workholding products. Must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment! Controls mainly used: HAAS, Okuma, Fanuc and Heidenhain. A passion for manufacturing and a thirst for knowledge is required!

Job Duties:

  • Setting up and/or running vertical milling machines and/or lathe machines
  • In process inspection of parts with standard QC equipment (calipers, mics, height/pin gauges etc.)
  • Diligent completion of travelers and logging in and out of jobs in MRP software
  • Minor de-burr of parts with standard tools
  • Adherence to safety precautions and conformation to all safety rules

Qualifications:

  • Set Up: 5 years CNC mill and/or lathe experience preferred
  • Operators: at least 1 year of CNC mill experience preferred, however we will train the right person
  • Ability to read blueprints and understanding of dimensioning/tolerancing
  • Reliability and ability to listen and follow instruction
  • Team player and positive, cooperative attitude
  • Solution oriented and ability to respectfully communicate with colleagues
  • Running of manual CMM is a plus

Job Details

World-class high-volume CNC production facility catering to medical, aerospace and medical industries needs a full-time Quality Insurance Inspector to perform QC for our machined parts. Must be a solution-oriented team player. PC DMIS programming and ability to run a Brown and Sharp CMM is a plus.

Duties Include:

  • First articles, in-process and final inspection
  • Respectful communication with colleagues
  • Traveler / Router documentation
  • Disposition of non-conformance tags
  • Ability to create inspection documents for shop floor

Skills Required: 

  • GD&T proficiency
  • Ability to use all standard QC equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauge etc.
  • Detail oriented, proactive and organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail and ability to focus, yet flexible enough to multi-task and thrive under pressure
  • Ability to learn and run CMM programs
  • Trigonometry proficiency is a plus
  • Machinist experience preferred
  • AA Degree or High School diploma with job experience

We are rapidly growing and currently hiring for a full-time Senior Purchasing/Procurement Agent with vast knowledge of domestic and international manufacturing resources to procure raw materials, and machined parts.  This is a position designed for a leader! 

What you will be doing:

  • Working with upper management to coordinate outsourcing of machined parts.
  • Analyzing production specification and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools and human resource requirements.
  • Manage the sourcing process from analyzing the vendors proposals, communicating between stakeholders and determining a negotiation strategy.
  • Develop and execute pricing and contract negotiation strategies; understanding financial impact to all negotiations.
  • Planning, scheduling, coordinating procurement requirements as well as monitoring overall production plan to meet delivery schedules.
  • Support the procurement team as need in the processing of purchasing requisitions, resolving invoice issues, and performing expense analysis.
  • Work with management and operational teams to forecast customer requirements and assist as needed in keeping these schedules current.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Do you have?

  • Minimum 5 years experience with Procurement/Purchasing in the manufacturing arena
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with coordinating with international resources to procure machined parts
  • You must be able to read engineering drawings and understand material specifications
  • Working knowledge and experience developing production plans
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Engineering background a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

High-volume CNC manufacturing facility needs experienced professional to work with current team to assist with all aspects of Shipping and Receiving to ensure timely delivery of machined parts to outside processors and customers.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Final visual inspection of machined parts to ensure they reach their destination free of damage and debris
  • Creating internal pack slip requests for deliveries
  • Driving duties
  • Ensuring machined parts are properly wrapped to prevent damage
  • Adherence to all safety precautions as required
  • Team player attitude

Qualifications:

  • Fast learner, extremely organized and computer literate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Forklift proficiency and clean driving record
  • Machine shop experience is a major plus
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a “can do” attitude

Job Duties:

  • Cleaning and sanitation and maintenance bathrooms and break areas
  • Dumping trash
  • Mopping floors
  • Regular re-filling of paper products
  • Cleaning of production areas and workbenches in the shop
  • Maintenance of the administrative offices
  • Support with on-site company events
  • Assist preventative maintenance technicians with general machine shop support

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate should have experience in a shop / warehouse environment and safety awareness
  • Must be self-motivated with a team player attitude
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with others in a positive and cooperative manner
  • Handyman skills are a plus
